West Burton is considered by many to be one of the prettiest villages in the Yorkshire Dales. It is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, at the meeting point of Wensleydale and Bishopdale and one mile from the breathtaking Aysgarth Falls, where a cup of tea or a substantial meal can be eaten at the Coppice at the Yorkshire Dales National Park Centre.
Various historical buildings are situated in the area including Middleham Castle, Fountains Abbey, Bolton Castle, Bolton Abbey and Jervaulx Abbey.
Local market towns include Hawes which boasts the famous Creamery where you can watch the real Wensleydale cheeses being made, including a great favourite, Wallace and Grommit.
Other places to visit are the Ropemakers, The Dales Countryside Museum, The Forbidden Corner and much more.
The outstanding scenery will appear familiar to fans of the series "All Creatures Great and Small". Most of which was filmed in Wensleydale.
